In September, Joseph Bwalya and Gary Chaney started planting tomatoes and greens on the land they purchased. We now have over $10,000 tomato plants. The price of tomatoes recently doubled in Zambia. We are currently making approximately $1000 per week. After we pay the workers, we will begin making a profit in a few weeks. We hope to make a profit of $5000 this season from the tomatoes; this money will go back into the building project and to help orphans/widows/vulnerable families. This project has employed many local people who would otherwise not have a job!
Pastor Joseph Bwalya, who we are partnered with, is a farmer. He plants maize and cabbage on different land to help feed 100 orphan kids at their primary school.
